Walk Starting Point: 2 Montgomery Court, East Toowoomba

Walk Distance & Time: 

Ryan's to Lions Park: 1.6 km, 60 m rise - 25 min.  (Option to be driven up to Lions Park)

Firetail Walk: 2.2 km, 160 m descent of the escarpment from Lions Park to Stevenson St. – 45 min.

Stevenson St trailhead to Ryan's: 1.5 km, 100 m rise - 25 min. (Option to be driven up to Ryan's) 

Walking Total: 5.3 km, approximately 1.5 hrs, 160 m rise and fall.

General Information: 

Walk description: Street walk 1.6 km (25 mins) to the Lions Park on Tourist Road and onto the Firetail Walk*, 2.2 km down to Stevenson Street, then returning via Old Toll Bar Rd and Curtis Street  back to Montgomery Court. Alternatively, there will be options for drop-off to Lions Park and/or pick-up from the Firetail Walk trailhead on Stevenson St.

* Firetail Walk description: The Firetail starts with a 160m drop in altitude from Lions Park,  meandering down 2km through the escarpment vegetation, taking in views to the north and east across the Lockyer Valley and Table Top Mountain. Echidnas, legless lizards and small birds of prey can be seen. This walk finishes at the Bridle Trail (Stevenson St).

Social gathering after the walk: This is a BBQ-style dinner in the outdoor area at Ryan's following the walk at about 5:30pm 

What to Bring: Bring your protein/meat for cooking on the BBQ; your drinks, a chair and warm gear as it's outside.  Salads and dessert will be provided.
