Nth Stradbroke Is. - Expression of Interest

NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND     Sat 5 - Mon 9 November 

The Club is seeking expressions of interest from members in hiring a 22-seater bus for return travel to the island and camping at Adder Rock campground. This is non-binding at this time - and for the purpose of gauging whether to proceed with this idea.

The bus would also be used to provide transport to activities and places we wish to visit.

Return bus transport from Toowoomba:

22-seater Bus (incl. fuel) + Ferry cost  + 7x4 Trailer (free - loaned Ian Ryan) - $2000

For 20 passengers (assume bus is not full) - $100 per person

Unpowered Camping at Adder Rock: 

For 2 nights:  $118 per 2 person - extra person $30 to maximum 4 persons 

Assume 3 person site occupancy - $44.50 per person

TOTAL COST – approximately $145

Private vehicle comparison:

Preliminary investigation reveals that vehicle ferry return transport to Nth Stradbroke can be expensive, with a flexible fare structure* – for instance (4 persons in vehicle) SUV $207 - $336; large 4WD $227 - $336; large 4WD with camper trailer $382 - $601.

* SeaLink North Stradbroke Island uses a flexible fare structure, similar to an airline, with the best value for customers who are able to travel off-peak. Off-peak fares are subject to change based on demand, so booking in advance is highly recommended to secure the best price.
