UPDATE 5 JUNE

I spoke with Pippa from Tiny Away Escape @ Granite Belt yesterday:

  • For camping sites, check-in is available from 10am (accommodation is still 2pm check-in).
  • When booking, if you note in the Special Requests field that you are with Toowoomba Bushwalkers Club, Pippa will try to allocate to the same general area.
  • At this time, there are a few powered sites and plenty of unpowered sites available.

Venue map - is difficult to come across on their websites.  This is a link to the Tiny Away Site Map 2025

Booking conditions - are not evident until you go to book. I have extracted them here: Tiny Away Booking Conditions

Pet Friendly - Pets are allowed (Sites only) at the managers' discretion. The Park must be advised of all pets entering the Park. Pets are NOT allowed in any buildings (Cabins, Amenities, Camp Kitchen, Rec Room or BBQ shelters). You are to clean up after your pet and keep it under your control at all times.

Tiny Away Escape @ Granite Belt is the venue replacing Girraween National Park camping where at this early stage there is only some tent camping availability.

This is the last weekend of the Spring School Holidays AND King's Birthday public holiday – so we cannot expect availability to last long !

Details about activities for the weekend will follow as they are developed.

Their website is a mishmash of several it seems, but here's the link to check out camping/caravan site options for yourself:    https://sommervillevalley.com.au/tourist-park/  For other accommodation options (tiny houses, cabins etc), click the Resort tab to the right.

When I called last, on 4 June, there are plenty of vacancies for unpowered sites - and still some for powered sites for Fri 2 through to Mon 5 October.

Unpowered sites are $56, 2 persons per night ($12 extra person) for Fri, Sat and Sun nights and $50 Monday night.

Powered sites are very expensive at $70, 2 persons per night.

Other accommodation - limited at this time:

Tiny Houses - for 2 persons Fri and Sat $238 Sun Mon $196.

Non-ensuite cabinets (sink, fridge, microwave) max 4 guest $109 per night

A few different waterfront lodges, 2 bedroom (5max) and 3 bedrooms (6 max) - at around $400 per night.

The facilities are good from my experience. Between the campsites and the lakeshore forest buffer there's a roofed concrete pad with a couple of firepits we could probably take over.

Please make your own bookings directly with the venue.

Please register on Member Jungle to let us know you are attending

Activities:  With this event still 5 months away, activities are still to be organised.  It is expected that Bald Rock and Girraween NPs (about 30 min travel) will offer some short and challenging walks. Hopefully, Storm King's water level will still be amenable to kayaking and canoeing. There is several food and winery options in or near Stanthorpe.
