Redwood Park
Date: Sunday 7th June 2026
Venue: Redwood Park
Leader: Rick Dew
Leader Details: Email: vdew53@gmail.com Ph: 0407 326610
Meeting Point: Cobb and Co. Museum carpark in Lindsay Street - we meet on the right hand side of the museum. I’m suggesting meeting here to enable car-pooling due to limited space at the park entrance.
Meeting Time: 7.30am
Travel Distance and Time: About 5 kilometres and 10 minutes to the entrance on the Warrego Highway
Walk Distance and estimated Time: About 5 to 6 kilometres and 3 to 4 hours
Walk Rating: S35. The walk will be on fire trails, or defined footpads through the forested areas. We will be ascending or descending for the majority of this walk. Gradients will predominantly vary from gentle to moderate with the occasional steep section, particularly where we traverse through gullies.
General Information: The plan is to follow the Grass Tree Trail to its intersection with the Bridle Trail, which we’ll follow for a short distance before veering onto the Eagles Nest Trail, which will then lead us to the Fern Tree Gully Circuit. We will return to the Grass Tree Trail and then complete the Rainforest Circuit before returning to our starting point.
Because of the undulating nature of this walk, I recommend at least a couple of litres of water to ensure good hydration. Sturdy footwear is also recommended because of the terrain. Bring plenty of snacks as we most likely will have a couple of smoko breaks.
Please contact me using the email or phone info above if you have any questions.
You will need to register to attend this event – thank you.
Rick
