Date: Friday 17th to Sunday 19th July 2026
Walks Leader: Rick Dew email: vdew53@gmail.com ph: 0407 326610
Meeting Place: I am not proposing to have a meeting place. Make your own way to Coochin Creek campground. You may want to come on the Friday, or alternatively come as early as possible on Saturday morning.
Registrations are now open for this event.
Travel distance and time: About 200 kms and 2 and a half hours
Walk distance and estimated time: Yet to be finalised. Suffice to say that as we will be climbing mountains there will be various grades of steepness. Precise information about the actual walks will be posted once available.
Walk ratings: Will be uploaded once precise walks have been determined.
General Information: We will be camping in Beerburrum and Beerwah State Forest at the Coochin Creek campground. At the time of writing, there are 10 caravan/camper trailer sites and 4 tent sites available. If you are intending to participate, I would urge you to book a site as soon as possible as they will disappear very quickly. Book through Qld National Parks website under campground name Coochin Creek. (See the attached Document 1 for Detailed camp site descriptions).
Kayaking is also an attractive alternative as there is access to Pumicestone Passage via Coochin Creek.
