UPDATE Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser Fri 8 May 2026
UPDATE - The Volunteer Register is now filled !
Many thanks to the 16 volunteers - The response has been great ! - We now have a full complement of helpers throughout the day.
However, YOU can still help! - Swing by Bunnings Twba Nth on Friday 9 May and buy a delicious sausage or two and a drink!
BBQ Volunteers are needed !
Our allocated BBQ fundraiser this year is on a Friday – and because Bunnings advises that it is typically much less busy than a Saturday, we will need fewer volunteers.
BBQ volunteer requirements at any one time will be for 3 people to cover the tasks of cook, server and cashier – under the direction and supervision of BBQ Captain Roger Thompson.
While we are still requesting volunteers to fill 2 hr shifts, a learning from last year's BBQ is that it will be better to have an overlap rather than replace an entire shift where everybody has to be brought up to speed on the tasks.
To achieve this, we will have shifts of 7am–9, 9–11, 11–1, 1–3 and 3–5pm - overlapping shifts of 8am–10, 10–noon, noon–2 and 2–4pm. The 7am-9 shift will help Roger with the set-up/prep in readiness for sales to begin at 8am - and the 3-5pm shift will help Roger with pack-up after sales close at 4pm.
Club Promotion and Information Desk
This year we will also have a promotion and information desk just inside the entrance, opposite the BBQ stall. This will be organised by Mark Evans and will need the assistance of 1 volunteer per shift.
If it gets too busy in the BBQ stall, the information desk helper can leave to help with the BBQ for a while.
VOLUNTEER NOW! Volunteer opportunities for "Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser Friday 8 May 2026" are now open.
Please click on the following web link to go to the sign-up sheet: volunteersignup.org/LJMXJ (or copy it into your web browser if clicking doesn't work)
To sign up, just follow the instructions on the page. It only takes a few seconds to do.
Please Note: You cannot sign-up to do just a particular task over your 2-hr shift. Between Roger and Mark, your task preference (if you do have one) on the day might be accommodated. However, the smooth running of the BBQ and Information Desk is a priority and may require you to do another task or even several tasks.
Thank you for volunteering!
