Brian will lead the weekend, but Monica DH will coordinate registrations and answer questions.

Booking/Registration:

A group booking has been made for 5 x Lakeside Trees unpowered camping sites, plus LS8 & LT1 powered camping sites, and 4 x Edith's Edge powered camping sites - you don't need to make your own booking - but you must register via Member Jungle, so sites can be apportioned and overflow sites booked as necessary. 

In Lakeside Trees, LS8 & LT1 powered camping sites have been reserved for Bruce and Roger. There are 4 Powered Sites at Edith's Edge, and E4 has been reserved for Roby. Three more Powered sites are available, please advise Monica if you need a Powered site, the rest will be allocated on a first-come basis starting on the Friday.

Payment - On arrival, proceed to the office to make full payment. Brendon has kindly done us a deal with a special group rate of $15 per person, per night for Unpowered Sites (its normally $35), and $20 per person, per night for Powered Sites. The other advantage is payment is not site-specific so you can pull up at reception, pay, then worry about where to camp. Make sure you say thanks to Brendon! 

Walks Itinerary:

The Office is a good meeting point between the two campgrounds.

Saturday’s Walk – Details to be confirmed with Brian doing pre-walks Thursday/Friday - fresh from driving straight from Melbourne – a huge effort!

Sunday’s Walk - Passchendaele State Forest

Ian Ryan, has kindly arranged for friend, Jeannie Wylie, to lead our group on a walk in Passchendaele State Forest. Jeannie will meet us at the Foxbar property turnoff on Goldfields Rd at 7:45am on Sunday for the 10-15min drive to a safe area to park at the start of the walk. This walk follows a well hidden old narrow motorbike track through Passchendaele's natural forest around the broadcast tower, and offers rewarding views from elevated rock formations especially after recent fires. It is bush so expect it can get scratchy with fallen trees to navigate, undulating terrain with a few hills. The rock formations we ascend are not be too steep. The walk should take up to 3 hrs at a comfortable pace. Bring smoko for on a rock somewhere!

Directions - The street address is 375 Goldfields Road, Amiens (21 kms northwest of Stanthorpe)

You do not go into Stanthorpe. I like to turn off at The Big Apple at Thulimbah. There are a few different turnoffs you can take. The last few kilometres are well signed off Amiens Road. Please note: your GPS and Google Maps may take you the wrong way as you get close - do not take the Harslett Road turnoff - follow the campground signs instead, and you can't go wrong. Remember, it is a vegetable farm as well as a campground, so when you see fields of carrots you have come to the right place!

Firewood - Camp fires are allowed for our weekend. They have fire pits on each site and sell decent firewood for $15/box (approx 20kg), however, you may bring in your own also.

Ice - is also available for purchase for $5/bag. 

Water - There is drinkable rainwater in the tank next to the office, but they recommend bringing drinking water if you’re particular about taste.
